Is HTV the same as vinyl stickers?
Same vinyl family, different adhesive worlds. HTV (heat transfer vinyl) has a heat-activated adhesive made to wash with fabric. Sign vinyl and sticker vinyl use pressure-sensitive adhesive meant for glass, boards and vehicles. Substituting one for the other fails in both directions – garment vinyl on a board peels off, sign vinyl on a shirt does not survive the first wash.
How many colours of HTV can go on one t-shirt?
Technically unlimited, practically 2-3. Each colour is a separate cut sheet that layers on top of the last, so a 4-colour design means four cuts, four weedings and four press cycles. Beyond that, orders shift to DTF, which prints unlimited colours in one pass at lower labour.
